2, 2014. Soller-Baker Funeral Home West Lafayette Chapel in charge of arrangements. Robert Kenneth Gloyeske, 87, passed away on October 31, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 24, 1926 to the late Joseph and Margaret Gloyeske in Valparaiso, IN and was preceeded in death by his only sibling, Irene Kopp. He graduated from Valparaiso High School in 1944.

Robert served in the United States Navy during WWII from 1945 1946. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1951 with a Bachelor of Architecture degree and began his career at Holibird Root in Chicago, IL. Robert met Kathleen Mary Kaye on his "rst day at Michigan while at a dance at the Newman Center and they married on February 2, 1952. They relocated to Lafayette, IN where Robert began his long career with Walter Scholer Associates. During his 50 year career at Scholer, he served as design architect, project architect, and head of the architectural department.

In 1972 he became President and served as Chairman of the Board from 1995 until his retirement in 2006. Robert was most proud of several architectural achievements which include Emens Auditorium at Ball State University, Mackey Arena at Purdue University and the renovation of Saint Mary Cathedral in Lafayette which received an AIA Indiana 2001 Honor Award. Pope John Paul II conferred the medal Pro Ecclesia et to Robert for exceptional works and conspicuous devotion. The medal is a papal honor conferred on laity who distinguish themselves by providing exceptional service to the church. Robert served on the Board of United Way, Lay Advisory Board of St.

Elizabeth Hospital, and the Tippecanoe County Zoning Advisory Board. He also served on the Lafayette Diocesan Building Commission and the State Board for Registration for Architects. His proudest achievement was his seven children, Ken (Barb), Beth Fleenor (Dave), Steve (Linda), Maggie, Kate Halsmer (Dominic), John (Julie), Rob (Vandana). Robert also had 16 grandchildren, Kelly, Brian, Marc, Andrew, Maureen, Laura, Stephanie, Rebecca, Hayden, Nicholas, Christina, Mary Kate, Josie, Jordan, Madison, Nikhil, and Rajan and two great grandchildren, Evan and Addison. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 3, from 6:00 p.m.

7:00 p.m. followed by a Vespers Service at 7:00 p.m. at Saint Mary Cathedral. A Catholic Mass of Burial, by the Most Reverend William L. Higi, Bishop Emeritus, and Fr.

Martin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 4. All services will be held at Saint Mary Cathedral. In lieu of ers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lafayette Catholic Schools or Saint Mary Cathedral. Soller-Baker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

and Grace Mourer Swihart. Lois graduated from Richmond High School in 1943 and attended Indiana University. On December 27, 1947 she married William R. Burke in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death on September 11, 2011. Lois worked as a realtor and a bail bondsman in Lafayette.

She was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and sang in the church choir. Surviving are her children Patrick J. Burke, wife Sandra Lafayette, Michael W. Burke, wife Kathleen, West Lafayette, Kathleen B.

Schwartz, husband Gary, Indianapolis, Den- nis M. Burke, wife Elayne, Lady Lake, FL, Monica L. Mainard, husband Michael, Southlake, TX, Angela C. Miller, husband Jason, Murphy, TX, Timothy J. Burke, wife Kristine, West Point and 16 grandchildren.

Also surviving are her sister Annabelle Henley of Traverse City, MI and brother Dale Swihart, wife Maureen of St. Louis, MO. Lois was preceded in death by sisters Joan Graham and Frances Umbaugh. Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thursday at Soller- Baker Lafayette Chapel 400 Twyckenham Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Friday at St.

Ann Catholic Church, Fr. Dominic Young ing. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery. Those wishing may contribute to the Matthew 25 Share and Care Soup Kitchen.

Mary Elizabeth Hadley Mc Nary, 97 David Gipson Sr. passed away on Oct. 31, 2014 at IU University Hospital in Indianapolis. David was born to the late Finis L. and Arline (Stevens) Gipson on Oct.

9, 1950 in Lafayette, IN. David was a 1968 graduate of Delphi Community High School. He served in the Marines during the Vietnam War from 1968-1971. David married Deborah Elston on Aug. 21, 1971 in Pittsburg, IN and she survives.

Mr. Gipson retired from Alcoa in Lafayette where he was employed as a Die Corrector. He was a member of the Pittsburg Community Church and American Legion Post David enjoyed "shing, watching professional wrestling. He loved cookouts and grilling with family and friends; precious times which are cherished. Along with his wife, he is survived by his children: David L.

Gipson Jr (wife: Cathy) of Crawfordsville and Emily May Gipson (companion: Dan of Delphi; siblings: Bruce A. Gipson, Perry W. Gipson, Bradley A. Gipson of Delphi, Stephen L. Gipson of Alabama, and Anita M.

Lothridge of Lafayette; Grandchildren: Carrie, Brett and Dusty and Great Grandchildren: Abby and Elijah. He was preceded by his sisters Christina Greenwood and Terry Flood. Visitation will be at the Pittsburg Community Church in Pittsburg on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 from p.m. Services will be there on Nov.

5, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with John Wagner ing. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens in Pittsburg. Military Graveside Rites by the Carroll County Honor Guard.

Online Condolences may be made at www.david- sonfh.com. David L. Gipson Sr, 64 Joy A. Erwin, 81, was called home by her heavenly Father, unexpectedly on Friday, October 31, 2014, due to complications from heart surgery at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Joy was born on March 14, 1933 in Mulberry, IN. She was the daughter of the late Floyd D. Gould and Helen B. (Rothenberger) Gould. Joy graduated from Whitestown High School in 1951.

She worked at Sears and Roebuck. She married Joseph R. Erwin on June 19, 1953 in Indianapolis, IN. She worked at the Purdue Small Animal Clinic, and later ran Farm Market at their residence. In the she was a top selling Avon Representative.

As a member of Connection Point Church, she loved worshipping her Lord and Savior. Joy loved spending time with her family and her dog She played euchre for over 30 years with a group of close friends every month. Joy enjoyed singing and playing her tambourine with the church ladies every Monday at nursing homes for the residents. She also enjoyed playing cards in a weekly card club and board games with friends and family. Joy was a true competitor.

Joy was preceded in death by her husband Joseph R. Erwin on July 13, 2014. Surviving are her daughter Sue Daniels (husband, Elvis), her son Steve Erwin both of Lafayette, a brother Richard Gould (wife, Carroll) of Stilesville, IN and a sister Beverly Sipes of Indianapolis, IN. Also surviving are three grandchildren Clint Daniels, D.C. (wife, Gretchen) of St.

Louis, MO, Sgt. Stephanie Daniels Stankus (husband. Jonathan) of Ewa, Hawaii, and Stacia Erwin of Lafayette, IN. Joy was preceded in death by a sister Patty Best and brother Dale Gould. Visitation 5 to 8 p.m.

on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at home with his wife and family by his side. Born November 1, 1942 in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Lester D. and Gladys (Cline) Johnson. David honorably served in the U.S. Army.

His marriage was to Dorothy M. Byrd on May 27, 1966 in Otterbein, IN and she survives. He worked in security maintenance for Great Lakes Chemical for 25 years. His hobbies included listening to Blue Grass, Gospel and Country music, building his show truck, and watching NASCAR and the Indianapolis Colts. Surviving with his wife are two sons, David A.

Johnson, Jr. (wife, Faye) and Robert Scott (wife, Jodi) both of Lafayette; three daughters, Tamara E. Corbin (husband, John) of Lafayette, Natasha M. Slaughterbeck (husband, Brandon) of Mulberry, and Penelope Lairdof Lafayette; three sisters, Carol Cadwallder and Ellen Parker both of Lafayette and Eileen Kight of Frankfort, IN; ten grandchildren, 7 great- grandchildren; and his dog He was preceded in death by a sister Shirley Pyle and a brother Lowell Johnson.
