system for the blind in Indiana was advanced to third reading in the senate today The bill which already has passed the house provides that blind persons more than 21 years old may receive not to exceed $300 a year To be eligible for such a pension however the ap plicants must have been residents of the state for at least five years It was considered likely that the bill will not be advanced fur ther in the legislature until Pres ident Roosevelt's social security program is determined Governor Paul McNutt is expected to call a special session of the gen eral assembly late in the spring or early in the summer so legis lation may be passed to provide funds for meeting the president's recovery and poor relief program Action on strengthening the present Indiana old age pension law giving
