assoclationwill attend the annual meeting of the American Alumni council at Sun Valley Ida Monday through Thursday This council is composed of people directly engaged in col lege and university alumni of "parents of 25 mentally handicapped chil dren in the Purdue Union build ing The group discussed methods of reaching other parents The organization has two prime purposes: 1 To provide as soon as possible special training and educational facilities for the mentally retarded children in tile Lafayette area 2 To enable parents of mentally retarded children In this area to gain benefits bf association with and the experiences of other par ents of mentally retarded children The group pointed out at the meeting that the mentally retarded child often has been referred to as the "forgotten child" physical ly handicapped are to have special training facilities in the new Vin ton school it was pointed out The group said it would seek similar programs for mentally handicapped children The
