in Mosul Iraq He was born Dec 5 1978 in rankfort Germany the son of William and Jonell Wright McGovern of Ida ville He was a 1997 graduate of Twin Lakes High School where he participated in foot ball and track Capt McGovern was com missioned a second lieutenant in the Army upon graduation from Purdue University in 2001 He completed his mas degree at Webster Uni versity in Missouri This was his life resident of the JasperNewton county area and was educated in Jas per County schools He was an Army veteran of World War II He retired from Metz Stone Quarry and Ward Stone of rancesville He also had worked for the JasperNew ton Soil Conservation Hunters eed Mill and was engaged in farming part time He was affiliated with Trin ity United Methodist Church of Rensselaer On Aug 16 1947 he married Mary Jane Parker in Rensse laer She preceded him in death March 5 1998 Survivors include five chil dren Susan Lysiak (husband: Roger) of Lafayette William Todd (wife: Marilyn) of Monon and Robert Todd 0612 Serving the area far 77 years Jean Ann Coyner Crum Jean Anri Coyner Crum passed away Sunday No vember 4 2007 after a short illness She was born July 31 1917 to Dr and Mrs Alfred Bruce Coyner in Indianapo lis Indiana She spent part ot her early childhood in Rochester MN her completed a surgery fel lowship at the Mayo Clinic They returned to their family home in West Lafayette Indiana where she grew up on Russell Street She spent weekends and holidays at their family farm in Clarks Hill Indiana She graduated from Brad ford Junior College near Boston and Northwestern University in Evanston IL She met her husband Cyrus Newton Crum III of OKC at Camps Nagawicka and St They married in 1942 They first lived in Bos ton where he was a student at Harvard Business School and she taught at Simmons College As a war time bride she returned to Lafayette where she taught chemistry in the pharmacy department at Purdue University while her husband served on a Navy ship in the Pacific After the war they made their home and started a family in Oklahoma City She was a member of and served on the boards of the OKC Junior League and Planned Parenthood and spent endless volunteer hours at Chil Hospital She was Presbyterian Churcb the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club the Boulder Country Club in Boulder Colorado and the Yale Club of New York City In 1955 she became an avid and very accomplished fly fisherman a hobby she pursued each and every summer in Colorado and Wyoming for the next 25 years At age 84 she climbed through barb wire fence and fished the Laramie River for one last time Her beauti ful home is a reflection of a being there lifetime of researching and collecting antiques In the 1960s she started traveling with her husband for plea sure and business across the country in his small air plane and eventually was a student pilot herself And in 1980 they bought a sec unu living in vuuiuti rado where they loved to Lafayette Indiana reading Surviving with her par ents are two sisters Pamela Hancock (husband: William) and Jacqueline Daugherty (husband: Michael) both of Lafayette Visitation is 5 8 pm Wednesday at Soller Bak er Lafayette Chapel with services
